The fight has resulted in in Jubilee Party Leader Uhuru Kenyatta being dragged into the issue and being accused of going back to take the money he gave for the late Raila Odinga's campaigns.
According to Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, Uhuru, who was then President and supporting Raila's bid, Uhuru allegedly used his inner circle and family members to embezzle the funds.
This was in response to party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, who had accused Junet and others of mishandling funds donated by Uhuru and causing Raila's defeat.
Jubilee, in a statement on Tuesday, claimed that this is a strategy being used by Ruto to salvage his 2027 reelection chances, on sensing the high possibility of being rejected at the ballot.
It claimed that Ruto is now trying to divert the debate to make Kenyans forget about his failures.
"The Jubilee Party is clear: the manufactured attacks on H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta are nothing more than a desperate attempt to create a convenient scapegoat for a government that has lost the confidence of the Kenyan people," the former ruling party stated in a statement on Tuesday.
The party further denied claims that Uhuru is the person behind the division being witnessed in ODM, dismissing allegations that he seeks to take over the party following Raila's death.
"They should stop projecting their betrayal onto Uhuru Kenyatta. Jubilee will not allow our party leader to be dragged into schemes designed to sell out a party that Raila Odinga built over two decades."
