Ex CS Echesa Roars Back, Goes for Seth Panyako's Neck in Fierce Court Battle Over Malava Goons Claim

Former sports cabinet secretary Rashid Echesa has roared back to the political scene launching a fierce court battle against Seth Panyako, a contestant in the November 27th, 2025 Malava Constituency by-elections.

As reported by a leading media house, Mr Echesa has sued Seth Panyako over goonism claims he made while appearing in a post election interview on Oga Obinna Show.

In the interview with Oga Obinna, Mr Panyako claimed that Echesa led a contingent of armed goons in unleashing a wave of violence against him ( Panyako) during the the Malava Constituency by-elections.

Panyako alleged that Mr Rashid Echesa, Stanley Livondo and Lugari Member of Parliament Nabii Nabwera were responsible for an incident where he ( Panyako) was attacked by armed goons while at a Hotel along the Eldoret -Webuye Road on the night of November 26th, 2025.

On the eve of the by-elections on 27th November 2025, Panyako farther claimed that the above trio led a number of rowdy youths in torching a vehicle belonging to party leader Eugene Wamalwa around Chebwai polling station.

However, it seems Echesa did not take the remarks lightly. In court documents filed by his legal team, Echesa claims these remarks by Mr Seth Panyako were fully defamatory.

Echesa is seeking orders to have the video interview immediately pulled down from YouTube and all other social media platforms linked to Oga Obinna to defend the character and public image of his person.

The hearing of the case is expected to begin on January 22nd, 2026 and both sides are expected to present their legal arguments before a judge who will later determine whether Panyako defamed Echesa.
