Musyoka said the nation had lost many prominent voices under unclear circumstances and insisted Ogolla’s passing should not be dismissed as a simple accident.
He claimed the former military chief “was taken out,” a statement that immediately triggered sharp reactions both online and offline.
He told the crowd that Kenya could no longer avoid “hard questions,” adding that the truth must be pursued regardless of who feels threatened.
His remarks drew loud approval from some supporters, who cheered the promise to “speak without fear.”
Others on social media urged caution, warning that such claims could heighten political divisions if not backed by proper investigations.
A few commenters argued that any concerns should be handled through official channels rather than emotional speeches.
Kalonzo went on to say that the pursuit of truth would continue under what he described as “The Raila Vision,” insisting that those who admired Raila Odinga’s leadership should remain firm in defending justice.
General Francis Ogolla, the former Chief of Defence Forces, died in a helicopter crash in April 2024 while on an official mission in the North Rift.
The Kenya Defence Forces and the government previously described the crash as an accident following a technical failure.
