Comedian and activist Eric Omondi has moved in swiftly after a heartbreaking video showing a family’s door removed after failure to pay rent went viral, drawing national outrage and concern.
Through his “Sisi Kwa Sisi” initiative, Eric personally visited the affected home to confirm the situation on the ground. In clips shared online, he is seen inspecting the house and listening as the husband explains how the incident shattered their routine.
According to the man, he had to move essential items to a friend’s place, while his wife took their 8 month old baby to her sister’s home after the child failed to sleep in the cold.
During the visit, Eric announced immediate intervention. He promised the husband startup cash to help him get back on his feet, while pledging to fully set up a salon for the wife, who revealed she is trained and employed in the beauty business.
He also shared the family’s number publicly, inviting Kenyans to contribute whatever they could. The response online was overwhelming.
"Mambo ya Mungu maze,” commented one netizen.
“In his own time he makes everything beautiful, this God," another stated.
Others praised the initiative, with one saying, “team sisi kwa sisi tunaeakea bibi salon yake,” as blessings poured in for Eric’s involvement.
