Natembeya Downplays Taking 2027 DP slot, Reveals What he Will Do if he Fails to Get Statehouse Ticket

After being mentioned severally as potential united opposition Deputy President position contenter, Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya has finally set the records straight concerning the issue.

Speaking in an interview with a leading media station, Natembeya downplayed taking up the running mate slot in the united opposition revealing that his aim is to get the statehouse ticket.

But if he fails to get the presidential ticket, Natembeya stated that he will not be taking up the running mate slot but he will instead return to Trans Nzoia and continue serving the people as governor.

By the end of this year, Natembeya stated that Kenyans should expect the United Opposition front to unveil their preferred presidential ticket holder who will battle it out with president William Ruto in the much awaited 2027 general elections.

Natembeya has in recent times emerged the fiercest president William Ruto critic not only in Western Kenya but in the entire country.

He says his aim is to rally the Western Kenya people into voting unity after what he has termed as years of political cannibalism and opportunism.

Back at home, Natembeya is facing growing resistance from former health cabinet secretary Susan Nakhumicha and Kiminini Member of Parliament Kakai Bisau who have declared interest in the county's gubernatorial seat.
