President Ruto Slams KCC Over Unpaid Milk Debt, Announces Ksh 2 Billion Rescue Plan

President William Samoei Ruto has exposed that the New Kenya Co-operative Creameries (KCC) still owes him for milk he supplied over the past four months.

The shocking disclosure came during a public address, where Ruto expressed his deep frustration over the unpaid debts and the company’s poor financial management.

"For over four months, I have supplied milk to KCC, yet they have failed to pay me," Ruto said, adding that the situation was unacceptable and needed urgent resolution.

The President’s remarks come at a time when KCC has been facing mounting pressure to improve its operations, which have been plagued by inefficiency and delayed payments to farmers and suppliers.

In response to the ongoing challenges, Ruto announced that his government would inject a massive Ksh 2 billion into the company.

He stressed that this would be the last chance for KCC to turn things around before more drastic measures are taken.

"This is the final intervention. If KCC cannot transform with this support, we will not hesitate to pursue other solutions," Ruto warned.

The President's announcement of the Ksh 2 billion bailout is part of a broader effort to overhaul the operations of KCC.

The government has been working on sweeping reforms aimed at addressing long-standing issues of mismanagement, delayed payments, and lack of transparency within the company.

Ruto made it clear that the new KCC management would be expected to demonstrate immediate improvements, or face consequences.

The President’s decision to step in with financial support comes at a critical time for Kenya's dairy sector, which is the backbone of many farmers' livelihoods.

The country’s dairy farmers, who rely on timely payments, have expressed concerns over KCC’s financial struggles, and many hope that this bold intervention will bring stability back to the sector.

With the future of KCC hanging in the balance, all eyes will be on how the company responds to the President's warning and the reforms ahead.
