Wandayi Reveals What he Will do if ODM Party Fields a Candidate to Challenge Ruto's Re-Election Bid

Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Hon Opiyo Wandayi has revealed to the public what he will do, should his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, field a presidential candidate in the fast approaching general election.

As per his pronouncement, should his party front a candidate to contest for the country's top political seat in 2027, he would still support his now boss President William Ruto, because "no politician across the country has a chance against him (Ruto)" in the Presidential race.

"We have no alternative but to fight to remain in and form the next government." Opiyo Wandayi indicated affirming that he would not take a gamble by supporting an ODM candidate and end up to lose his now prestigious position as a Cabinet Minister.

As a result, Opiyo Wandayi urged all the ODM principals who were brought to government through the Broad-Based arrangement, to tighten their grip on the roles they were assigned to oversee by President Ruto, as that is the only way to continue biting the national cake and enjoying other crucial benefits.

"If you don't have a seat at the table where the national cake is being shared (government), it is useless, it amounts to nothing!" Opiyo Wandayi added.

Aside from that, Wandayi indicated that before he landed his role as a Cabinet Secretary, he endured it rough being left in the cold, a fact that opposition members can attest to. "Being in the opposition is the toughest job." He stated.
