A family in Vihiga is demanding justice following the death of their kin who passed away in Oman.
According to reports, 33-year-old Everlyn Amagove left the country in October 2025 after securing a job as a house help.
Her mother, Rosemary, demanded to know how she managed to travel out of the country despite suffering from epilepsy.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV Kenya, Rose said her daughter died on February 10, 2026, and her body was brought back to the country.
She was laid to rest in the presence of her family, friends, and members of the public who went to pay their last respects.
They called on President William Ruto's administration to address the issue of Kenyans leaving the country illegally.
"She used to sell maize in Githurai. I don't know how she got a job abroad because she suffers from epilepsy. She died on February 10, 2026. We don't know what caused her death," Rosemary said.
Meanwhile, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called on Kenyans to work hand in hand with the government.
He also urged Kenyans to do their due diligence before accepting job offers abroad to avoid being tricked by recruitment agencies.
