Kakamega residents are in deep sorrow following the sudden death of former nominated MCA Lynda Praise, who lost her life in a road accident only minutes after appearing active on WhatsApp.
Lynda served in the Kakamega County Assembly between 2017 and 2022.
She was known for her calm character, strong work ethic and her deep involvement in charity work that touched many families across the county.
According to reports shared by leaders who worked with her, Lynda was online between 8:54 in the evening and 10 at night before the accident happened.
Nominated MCA Amos Liyai Munasia confirmed the news and said that he wished Lynda eternal peace and that she had met her death in a road accident along the Kakamega-Mumias Road that evening.
Her long-time friend and political partner Anyama Wa Anyama also shared emotional memories of their journey together.
He recalled that they first clashed when she was in ANC and called herself Msichana wa Musalia until she got a nomination in the Kakamega County Assembly.
He added that he was pro-Baba at the time, but she appreciated the charity work he was involved in.
He added that they worked closely during the Ficha Uchi campaign, which helped many children.

Anyama remembered her kindness and recalled how she would drive long distances to support community events.
He said she was later nominated under ANC through the support of Musalia Mudavadi.
Lynda’s sudden death has left the county shocked, with many praising her warm heart and strong service to the community.
